Guizhou Anjiu Honored as “Chinese Liquor Industry Product of the Year for Agency Value”

On March 4, Guangzhou saw the opening of Interwine China 2021 Spring & Chinese Liquor Industry Annual Product Power Awards. It was attended by heavy weights in the Chinese liquor industry, such as Ji Keliang and Liang Bangchang. At the event, Guizhou Anjiu showed superb performance in terms of quality value and strategic value. Thus, together with Guizhou Xijiu Junpin and the Eighth-generation Classical Wuliangye, it was honored as the “Chinese Liquor Industry Product of the Year for Agency Value”, becoming the focus of the whole awards ceremony.

 

Over recent years, Guizhou Anjiu, as one of the “two major historically significant and famous liquor brands in Guizhou”, has emerged as a dark horse in the sector of high-end Maotai-flavored liquor. Last year, as a low-profile player for years, it not only owned 10,000 tons of Maotai-flavored base liquor in reserve but also achieved an annual production capacity of more than 10,000 tons of high-quality high-temperature daqu, making it self-sufficient in distiller’s yeast. On the Double Ninth Festival in 2020, it produced 12,000 tons for the new season of distilling, officially joining the “Club of 10,000-ton Maotai-flavored Liquor Producers”. Apart from its brilliant performance in terms of capacity, its in-depth value has also been recognized.

 

On the quality value front, Guizhou Anjiu has rigorously adhered to its Five 100% standards: 100% distilled from the bank of the Chishui River; 100% made of red-tassel glutinous sorghum; 100% in the 12987 traditional daqu Maotai-flavored process; 100% stored in pottery jars for five years; 100% produced in-house. It is with such standards that Quizhou Anjiu has built a quality “moat” for its premium Maotai-flavored products. Last year, Guizhou Anjiu Classical was marketed. It was well-received in the market thanks to its tender, rich flavor, mellowness, fullness, and lasting aftertaste.

 

On the strategic value front, Guizhou Anjiu boasts “Anjiu Chishui Wine Valley” with an investment of RMB10 billion. The Valley is located in Tucheng Town known as the “World’s Maotai-flavored Liquor Core Production Area”, in Xishui County, Guizhou Province; it neighbors production bases for other famous Maotai-flavored liquor brands, such as Moutai and Xijiu series. The Chishui River, also known as the “Liquor River”, features an excellent eco-environment on both banks. It has thus become the most influential area with the most growth and development potential and the largest concentration of premium liquor brands in the world.

 

Anjiu Chishui Wine Valley covers an area of 1,500 mu. It is reputed not only for its magnificent natural landscape but also for its heritage of the Song Dynasty’s culture and history as well as its revolutionary culture and history. The Valley is an attempt to reproduce the original site of ancient Zizhou, create an immersive tourist experience, and achieve the “liquor/tourism integrated” comprehensive industrial development model. Upon completion, the Valley will help Guizhou Anjiu realize its overall annual capacity of 30,000 tons of daqu-based Maotai-flavored liquor production, 60,000 tons of high-quality high-temperature daqu, and 180,000 tons of liquor stored in pottery jars – a new business card in the “World’s Maotai-flavored Liquor Core Production Area”.

 

As industry insiders observed, Guizhou Anjiu was honored as the “Chinese Liquor Industry Product of the Year for Agency Value” due to the combination of its quality value and strategic value. This recognition from the industry will attract more distributors to it and greatly facilitate its market development in the following year.
