Identification and Approval of the Automatic Dismantling of Waste Power Lithium Battery from Battery Science & Technology by China Association of Environmental Protection Industry

Recently, China Association of Environmental Protection Industry organized an appraisal meeting on the achievements of "Automatic Disassembly of Waste Power Lithium Batteries and Technology and Equipment of Pollution Control" jointly applied by Tianjin Battery Science & Technology Co., Ltd. and Harbin Battery Science & Technology Co., Ltd.

The appraisal committee consists of seven experts from Tsinghua University, Beihang University, Chinese Research Academy of Environmental Sciences, Suzhou University, Beijing Institute of Technology, Institute of Process Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences, China Road Transport Associations and other organizations.

After evaluation, the appraisal committee agreed that the technological achievements of Battery Science & Technology have reached the advanced level in China, and those in automation equipment and process control have reached the international advanced level.

It is committed to establishing a closed-loop industrial chain for the full life cycle of power batteries, focusing on battery banking + cascade utilization + recycling and other links, building an ecological chain of battery financial services and recycling, and forming a unique and innovative development model.

To solve the problems of complicated sources, diverse components and difficult treatment of waste power lithium batteries, Battery Science & Technology, with the goal of safety and environment protection, has independently developed disassembly technology based on intelligent storage and automatic feeding, electrified crushing, low-temperature removal of electrolyte and multi-stage fine sorting, as well as heat-accumulating thermal combustion combined with alkali liquor absorption waste gas treatment technology and formed a complete set of technology and equipment for automatic disassembly and pollution control of waste power lithium batteries.

The above achievements have achieved innovations in the intelligent access and transportation of waste power lithium battery connection, low-temperature disassembly without discharge, low-temperature removal of electrolyte of waste power lithium batteries, precise control of the rotary kiln atmosphere and safety of waste gas treatment. In addition to the brand-new performances, they also have realized the intelligent control of feeding and disassembly, broadened the ranges of disassembled waste batteries, and improved the safety of equipment.

At present, these achievements have been applied in the factory of Tianjin Battery Science & Technology, disassembling 10,000t of waste power lithium batteries every year and effectively disposing waste gases in the disassembly, which has improved the comprehensive utilization of resources.
